Dahek: A Restless Mind – 2025

Dahek: A Restless Mind (2025) tells the poignant story of Monalisa, a Bengali-speaking young woman living a middle-class life in Mumbai. She resides with her mother and her father, who has been wheelchair-bound since suffering a paralytic stroke when Monalisa was just six years old. Her family has faced numerous hardships over the years, shaping Monalisa’s journey with resilience and emotional depth.

As she grows older, Monalisa experiences a painful heartbreak when her boyfriend abruptly ends their relationship. In an effort to heal and find her path, she enrolls in music classes, but soon encounters mockery and social challenges that test her strength further. The film explores themes of family, love, perseverance, and the struggles faced by individuals in difficult circumstances.

Directed by Aroop Adhikari, who also contributes as one of the writers alongside Joy R.S.
